I’m Ella - founder, therapist, and the heart behind ÅBYN House Spa.
My work is rooted in the belief that rest is not a luxury, but a necessity. Every treatment I offer is designed to support deep relaxation, nervous system regulation, and a sense of being gently cared for - not rushed, fixed, or overwhelmed.
I specialise in slow, intuitive massage and holistic treatments that encourage the body to soften and the mind to quieten. My approach is never clinical or forceful, instead, it’s grounded in presence, warmth, and listening, to you, and to what your body needs in that moment.

My journey into wellness began shortly after leaving school, when I trained in massage and holistic therapies. While I fell in love with the treatments themselves, I quickly realised that the environments I was working in didn’t align with the kind of care I wanted to give. I stepped away, spending several years in the hospitality industry - learning the importance of experience, atmosphere, and thoughtful detail.
After becoming a mother, the need for genuine self-care, quiet, and space to simply be became more important than ever. That’s when A Touch of Tranquillity was born - initially as a small side project, and soon growing into something much bigger.
Through meeting clients, hearing their stories, and recognising a shared need for rest and reconnection, the business evolved naturally. Even during the uncertainty of the pandemic, that purpose only strengthened, reaffirming my mission to normalise self-care as essential, not indulgent.
Over time, I explored different settings, from salons to shared spaces, but none truly allowed me to create the sanctuary I had always envisioned. In 2022, I opened my doors from home, offering clients a private, peaceful environment where they could fully relax without distraction.

Inspired by my own home and the slower rhythm of life it represents, ÅBYN House Spa is about more than a name change, it’s a deepening of everything the business has always stood for. Calm, care, privacy, and presence.
This rebrand reflects a shift towards a more immersive, spa-like experience, while still maintaining the warmth and familiarity my clients know and love. Treatments are thoughtfully curated, time is respected, and every detail, from the space itself to the products used, is chosen with care.
ÅBYN House Spa is a place to come as you are. To rest without expectation. To feel supported, unrushed, and deeply looked after.

In October 2023, A Touch of Tranquillity (our previous brand name) was awarded Highly Commended in the Customer Care category at the Peterborough Small Business Awards. This recognition was a deeply meaningful moment - affirming the values at the heart of my work: care, consistency, and genuine connection.
Being shortlisted again in 2024 was a further honour, and a reminder that building a business with integrity, softness, and intention truly matters.
About The Small Business Awards:
The Small Business Awards aim to reward, acknowledge, and inspire small businesses across the UK through local awards programmes, they are the only awards programme in the UK specifically geared around and for small and micro businesses and are incredibly proud to be in their 8th year in Peterborough with further areas in the east midlands already launched.
The 2023 awards event was held at The Holiday Inn, Thorpe Wood, Peterborough with over 360 attendees, it was a night of celebration for many incredible small business finalists, families and supporters rewarding these businesses that are based within the Peterborough and Greater Peterborough area.
A Touch of Tranquility was also nominated and selected as a finalist for the 2024 awards too which is another proud and humbling achievement. Ella’s goals are to continue excelling in providing an enriching service for all clients who visit and potentially collect further awards to recognise all the hard work and dedication that is put into the business everyday.
